Soren Hellerup was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Got his M.A. from the National Drama School, Copenhagen in 1982. In 1985 Soren received various scholarships and began at H.B. Studio in New York City with teachers like Bill Hickey, Helen Gallagher and Aaron Frankel. In 1998 Soren moved to Los Angeles. Besides doing film and television, Soren has been working on a number of theater productions, and received a nomination for best supporting actor for an ADA Award (2000). In 2013 Soren Hellerup relocated to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he is now working also as a director, producer and teacher. Besides directing, producing and teaching film and theater, Soren also continues his work as an actor in Brazilian films and television series including Brazil's 2018 Oscar submission "Bingo: O Rei das Manhãs"/"Bingo. The King of the Mornings". Soren has in Brazil been working with directors like Hector Babenco, Daniel Rezende, Lais Bodanzky, Flavio Federico, Rodrigo Meirelles, Carlos Alberto Riccelli, Sergio Machado, Afonso Poyart, Andre Felipe Binder, Michel Tikhomiroff among others. Soren Hellerup is exclusively with the agency CastingLab in São Paulo for film and television.
