Troy was born in a small town on the Alberta prairies. He was a competitive Figure Skater from the age of 9 to 16 and was the Canadian National Novice Men's Bronze Medalist and Western Canadian Junior Men's Silver Medalist. Troy attended Ryerson Theater School in Toronto, then moved to New York City where he worked with Signature Theater, Classic Stage Company, and New York Stage and Film. Over the last 25 years, Troy has appeared in dozens of television shows including The West Wing, Desperate Housewives, The Mentalist, Murder in the First, Longmire, Training Day and Justified, to name but a few. Troy had recurring roles on Prison Break and David E Kelley's Boston Public, played the 'real' Don Draper on AMC's Mad Men and played Marc Maron's brother, Josh, on his show for IFC Maron. Troy played David Tannistone on the HBO Series The Young Pope and can be seen in the films Dig Two Graves with Ted Levine and Maven Pictures Wildling with Liv Tyler and Bel Powley. Troy has taught Foundations of Script Analysis/Scene Study as well as Advanced Script Analysis/Scene Study at the Aquila Morong Studio in Hollywood since 2013. Troy is featured on the CNN Special The History Of Comedy.
