Douglas Kidd

Douglas Kidd is an actor who often plays strong, capable, successful men who are also, on occasion, quite devious. Kidd was born Douglas James Miller in Vancouver, Canada. He has Finnish, French, Irish, and Scottish ancestry from his mother, and Austrian ancestry from his father (from a region of Europe that is now part of the Czech Republic). An all-around athlete in high school, Kidd enrolled at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada, after receiving a scholarship from the University's wrestling team. He competed at wrestling tournaments in both Canada and the U.S. during his first two years, and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature before auditioning, successfully, for the University's Theatre Program. After graduation, Kidd performed professionally on stage for several years while obtaining his first roles in film and television, which include a reserve officer in Top Cops (1992), a political handler in The Hidden Room (1993), a wealthy socialite in Forever Knight (1995), and a television news reporter in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1995). Other roles Kidd has played include a lawyer in The Stepson (2010), an FBI agent in the TV series The Art of More (2015), a mob-connected CEO in Trust No One (2016), and a police officer in Awakening the Zodiac (2017).
