Karen Leigh Hopkins became a writer, director, and producer, because she wanted to become an actress. after driving to Hollywood from Sandusky, Ohio and getting cut out of The Breakfast Club, she decided to write her own films. Hopkin's produced writing credits include Welcome Home, Roxy Carmicheal, Stepmom., Because I Said So, and Miss Meadows, which she also directed. Hopkins received an Emmy nomination for Showtime's What Girls Learn, and won the Humanitas Award for ABC Family's Searching For David's Heart. she also sold and produced a branded series for the Web with Sony/Crackle.
