Thoeger Hansen

Thoeger Hansen, also known by his middle name Iana, was born on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, to a Danish father and American mother. After they divorced, Thoeger moved with his mother to the United States at age three. They lived for short stints in Connecticut, Florida, and New York City, before moving to the Hawaiian island of Oahu when Thoeger was five. A natural storyteller who demonstrated drawing talent at an early age, Thoeger began performing in school plays in elementary school, and enrolled in his first drama class in 9th grade. A move from Oahu to San Diego before 10th grade did nothing to interrupt his thespian training and pursuits, and by 12th grade Thoeger had taken up video production. Thoeger attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts as a Film & Television undergraduate but, saddled with debt and disillusionment, dropped out after two years. In 1997, he joined two former NYU dorm-mates as part of the flagship staff of Kozmo.com, a visionary but doomed trailblazer of the e-commerce landscape, as partially chronicled in Wonsuk Chin's documentary feature E-Dreams (2001). Following Kozmo's 2001 demise, Thoeger returned for the first time to his native Denmark, and lived in Copenhagen for a year. Thoeger next returned to Oahu, where his professional acting career began when Anita Allison cast him in her independent short film Agent Orange (2005). Since 2011, Thoeger has been acting professionally in television, independent film, and theater in New York City. In 2015 he was signed for commercial management by Jillian Hassett at Prestige Management Group. (2017) Thoeger lives in East Harlem, New York City.
