Dorien Davies

Dorien Davies is a Los Angeles based actress, writer and puppeteer. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, where her parents owned the well known, independent bookstore called The Earthling Bookshop. She started acting at the age of three doing school productions then community theater and local radio commercials. Dorien attended Mount Holyoke College where she majored in Theater and minored in Studio Art. After college, she moved to Los Angeles where she began to write and perform sketch comedy and learned improv. Dorien met her husband, actor/writer Kenny Stevenson, at an improv class at Groundlings Theater in Hollywood. In 2012, Dorien, Kenny, producer- Lisa Rudin and director- Eric Kissack made an independent, rom-com called "Love, Sex and Missed Connections." It went to 15 film festivals around the world and won 11 awards. Dorien's involvement in that movie remains on of her proudest accomplishments. Dorien was trained as a puppeteer by the Jim Henson Company to be a performer for their live improvised stage show, "Puppet Up!." She has continued to work with the company, voicing numerous characters and performing both soft and digital puppetry. She's best known as Lulu on the Netflix original "Word Party," as Fizz on "Julie's Greenroom" and as the infamous Sandra in the "The Happytime Murders." In recent years, Dorien has also been writing for children's television and is in various stages of development on multiple projects. She and her husband have one daughter who listens to all her pitches first.
