Vicente Amorim

Vicente Amorim is a film and TV director. He has worked with actors such as Viggo Mortensen, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Giancarlo Giannini, Wagner Moura, Harvey Keitel, Emily Mortimer and Tsuyoshi Ihara. His work includes 10 features, 5 TV series, commercials and documentaries. Brazilian, US-educated, fluent in English, Portuguese, French and Spanish, Vicente was raised all over the world. He started shooting short films when he was 12, then moved on to commercials and finally TV and features. He studied Economics (UFRJ - Rio de Janeiro) and Film (UFF - Niteroi). Variety recently called Vicente a "rising star". His crime/thriller series The Division is Globoplay's greatest hit ever, holding nominations for the best series, actor and director awards by Brazil's most important critics' association. Vicente Amorim's films have been to some of the most important festivals in the world, including Toronto, New Directors/New Films (MoMA), Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary, Rome, Montreal, Rio and San Sebastian.
