Peter A. Dowling

Peter A. Dowling is a British screenwriter and director. Born in Salford, Manchester, in the north of England, he began his career at 13, making home movies. After high school he went into hand drawn animation for British television before moving to Germany where he started writing the cartoons and put the drawing pencil down for good. Writing live action thrillers by night, he won the Fulbright TEB Award for screenwriting in 1996 and was given a scholarship to move to the States. Known for his high concept thrillers, Dowling has sold numerous original screenplays and pitches in both film and TV and has worked on projects for every major and independent film studio. His best known works would be Black and Blue (starring Naomi Harris) and Flighplan (starring Jodie Foster). He has directed 2 independent movies and continues to also work in animation, most recently as one of the head writers and script editor of Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy for Hasbro.
